ICEP 93 Kenya- I was looking at some old pictures or us in Africa. I still remember the great time we had. Always will remember the train ride to Mombasa

Ah. So good to visit this site again.
We carry this young spirit with us all the time. It is great to hear that so many of Steven's broad and extended "family" go forward in celebration, purpose, joy and abandon - as Steven would insist upon.
Go forth everyone!

I stumbled upon this site completely randomly and was shocked and saddened to learn of Steve's death nearly 7 years after it happened as I have lost touch with pretty much anyone from becket. I had steve for a summer at beckett when was about 13(around 96) Even though I only spent a month in his presence I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that time. You raised an unbelieveable son and someone who really made a difference in a lot of childrens lives. I send my sympathy to your family but more importantly, I wanted to share this note more as a celebration of Steve's life rather then in grief.
God Bless

I was one of Steve's campers in Kaskaskia in 97 and, like Chris and John, Steve's influence on me is one of the main reasons why I have returned to Becket almost every summer since then. It amazes me how Steve's spirit continues to inspire me in all that I do. I think Steve would be happy to see his campers following in his footsteps.
As I grow older, my perspective on Becket changes and this summer I found myself really struck by the continuity of the whole experience. It served to assure me that Steve's legacy lives on in the experiences of our campers as it will when our campers become staff and so on down the line. It's a magical thing. I hope your family is doing well.
